Finland has not yet passed legislation on coexistence, but preparations are underway. The Finnish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has put working groups in place to look into legal aspects of coexistence and has assigned a subgroup to deal with technical matters. Their 2005 interim report is available in Finnish. The Finnish Advisory Board for Biotechnology published a memo on coexistence in 2004. It discusses minimum separation distances between GM and conventional crops, cultivation agreements between neighbours, and other ways of ensuring coexistence. The memo is advisory in nature and is available in Finnish. See also on GMO-Compass: |
