Maize GA21

Trait: The GA21 line of corn was developed through a specific genetic modification to be tolerant to glyphosate-containing
herbicides (Roundup).
Inserted gene:
m epsps-
gene
Source: The m epsps-gene is derived from maize (Zea
mays)

Function: The m epsps gene encodes for a version of EPSPS that is highly tolerant to inhibition by glyphosate.

Methods for the genetic modification: Microparticle bombardment of plant cells or tissue.
