This GM potato delivers only raw materials for the starch industry. Some residues arising from starch processing are used as animal food. - The aim of authorisation as food is for protection in case some gm potatoes reach food processing inadvertently.

Conclusion: The potato EH92-527-1 and derived products are no more likely to cause adverse effects on human and animal health and the environment, in the context of the proposed uses.

Commission Safety of the used Marker gene will again be examined by EFSA (May 7, 2008).

Conclusion: no new scientific evidence has become available that would prompt the Panel to change its previous opinions.
