Establishment of a cultivated plant in a natural ecosystem or in a biocoenosis of anthropogenic origin

Cultivated plants are specialised for producing higher yield, which generally makes them uncompetitive in natural environments. Somtimes, however, cultivated plants may cross with wild relatives or be planted in new regions, which can make them more competitive in the wild.
