Gene Construct
Apart from the gene of interest itself, a so-called promoter ("starter") and a terminator ("stop signal") are required for expression. In most cases, additional sequences are included, e.g. marker genes, which are also accompanied by a promoter and a terminator. The name "construct" is used because the sequences normally do not exist in this combination, but must be "put together" (constructed). |
