Cultivation

The raspberry is a plant of the northern hemisphere. As crop it is mainly cultivated in Russia, East and West Europe, the USA, and Canada. In 2005, the produced amount was about half a ton world wide.

Utilisation

Because of their high vitamin content, the fruit is often consumed raw or processed into

• fruit confections, marmalade, juice
• The leaves, mainly of the shoot apex, can be prepared as tea.
