Milk

Description of product

When one speaks of milk, cow's milk is generally meant. However, sheep's or goat's milk, and even sometimes mare's milk are drunk as raw milk or are processed to other milk products such as cheese and yoghurt. These products must be appropriately labelled.

• The milk does not go directly from the cow into the shop. Initially, it is cleansed, partially or completely skimmed, homogenised, pasteurised and finally cooled.

Animal feed: The fodder used in dairy farming can contain various raw materials and supplements for which gene technology can play a role.
