Gingerbread printe

Description of product

Printen are hard or soft gingerbread pastries in the form of rectangles, sheets or shapes.

  • Printen contain at least 80 kg dried sugar (partially crushed rock sugar) per 100 kg flour. The use of crude sugar or sugar beet syrup is not allowed, except in the case of spice printen for which up to 15% of the sugar can be replaced by sugar beet syrup.
  • Originally, a printe was a gingerbread slab with a stamped in image.
  • An "Aachener Printe" is a form of printe originally produced in the Aachen area of Germany.
