*Laurate Canola, a GM rapeseed with modified fatty acid composition has been cultivated in the USA 1996 until 2000. At last the acreage has been 70,000 hectares. By now cultivation ended.

The figures are based on international agricultural statistics, partly on estimates and unverified press reports. The country summary shows the first information about cultivation of GM rapeseed as well as the recent state of acreage. Missing figures do not mean that the cultivation of GM plants has been stopped. In the overview for the countries the first and last years of cultivation have been given.
